Membership Schemes and Loyalty Schemes.

We have been involved in selling Yankee Candles since 2002 and Yankee Doodle Limited and the new expanded company will be four years old in May 2008. Over the last six years we have seen numerous companies come and go in the Yankee Candle and Radio Flyer market. We have helped many customers that have experienced a problem after the company that they purchased their goods from has disappeared.

We often get enquiries from customers as to why we do not run a membership or loyalty card scheme. The overriding reasons are that they cost money to administer (resulting in less savings in real terms for you the customer). A 'scheme' (even the word sounds dodgy!) would prevent us from being able to offer the best prices all of the time (non members would always be paying over the top to ensure members can receive a discount - perhaps not in the cost of products, but in the hidden higher postage costs), and we would have to make up the discount somehow by increasing prices or postage costs (which is what other sites do). We believe in an open and fair market, where the price you see is the price you pay. We do not ask you to pay up front to join a 'scheme', which could end at any time, or for which the discounts and rules may change before you have saved your membership fee, we do not ask you to collect loyalty points which you can cash in when you have collected enough. We simply offer good honest prices and fair postage charges that are not inflated just to enable us to discount them or offer reward points. We do not offer discounts and then hit you with inflated postal charges during checkout. We do not sell on eBay, where the protection against fraud and malpractice is badly policed.

We have heard from numerous customers that have lost loyalty points which they had accumulated with a company that had ceased trading (one customer had 90 points !! - so they lost £90.00 of discount), we have seen companies offer discounts off future orders which are then not honoured, and we have seen 'schemes' that you buy a membership or loyalty card to join so that you get a discount, only for the discount amounts to change after a few months, or be withdrawn !

We do not offer a 1 point for every £10.00 you spend 'scheme', or a 5% off for a one off fee, where the more you spend, the more you save, as these 'schemes' do not last, they are not sustainable in a free market.

Yankee Doodle Limited feel that they offer the best value for money online, offering a choice of over 3300 in stock product lines, stocking over 410,000 individual items, we buy in huge quantities and pass the savings on to you in a 'pay what you see' way, rather than asking you to collect points or pay up front for a future discount.
